Gipfelglück in den Ötztaler Alpen

Einen ganzen Berg als fast Low-Key-Aufnahme (nur Konturen sichtbar und sehr dunkel gehaltene Photographie) bekommt man wirklich selten vor die Linse und würde wahrscheinlich im Normalfall wenig spannend aussehen. Hier aber haben der Schnee und der umherfliegende Pulverschnee von hinten von der Sonne hell angestrahlt den Bergkamm perfekt in Szene gesetzt. Wer oder was auch immer oben auf dem Berg steht – es sieht so aus, als würde dort jemand in dieser unheimlichen Szenerie hoch oben auf dem Gipfel stehen und den Naturgewalten trotzen.
In der Nachbearbeitung musste ich nicht sonderlich viel Hand anlegen außer leicht zu entsättigen und die Kontraste etwas zu verstärken.

Peak Experience in the Ötztal Alps

Having the whole mountain as low-key photo (only shapes visible and dark photography) is a seldom experience and normally it wouldn’t be very exiting. But here in this picture the snow and the blewn powder snow that was lightned by the sun from the back site were staging the mountain crest perfectly. Who or whatever was standing on the mountain – it’s looking like somebody is standing there in that unbelievable setting on top of the mountain and braving the force of the nature.
In the postproduction there wasn’t really much to do for me except decreasing the saturation and increasing the contrasts.
